  • It is forbidden to drive a vehicle if you have consumed too much alcohol or have used drugs.

If a breath test shows that your alcohol level exceeds 0.5 per mil, you will be fined by the judicial authorities. The amount of the fine depends on how much alcohol you have consumed. The minimum fine is $ 75 and it can increase up to $ 950.

Depending on how much alcohol you have consumed, you also risk that you are not allowed to drive for a certain period of time. You also risk a community service sentence, or imprisonment. The police may possibly also confiscate your driver’s license.
